What you’ll learn and experience
You’ll be guided through the fundamentals of karving, including tool handling, pressure control, and angle variation. A live demonstration introduces the process before you begin. You can sketch your own design, choose from a light stencil, or work intuitively. You’ll also learn how to read the side of the sheet to understand colour order and how depth reveals different layers, allowing you to work at your own pace.
What’s included
A four-hour guided creative workshop. Live demonstrations and step-by-step instruction. Introduction to karving tools and safe techniques. Layer awareness and colour-depth understanding. All materials provided. Karving tools are loaned for use during the workshop and are not included to take home. Your completed piece is yours to keep.
Food and refreshments
Light refreshments will be available on site. Participants are welcome to explore and support the many local makers, artists, and food vendors at Victoria Yards before or after the workshop.
