Karvaura wasn’t born overnight. It was a slow burn – an idea that quietly carved its way through my life for over a decade. The seed was planted in a high school art class: hands pressing into linocut sheets, watching form emerge through absence. Even then, I remember thinking – why isn’t the carving itself the art?
Years later, seeing the layered works of Hannah Jensen Fox reignited that question. When I tried her technique, it wasn’t the finished artwork that mattered, but the feeling of uncovering colour instead of applying it. For the first time, the process felt as liberating as the result.
That moment sparked a mission: what if art could be mindful, multi-sensory, and un-intimidating? I wanted to create an experience where the act of revealing is the joy.
Karvaura is the result. It’s a medium – and a movement – that invites you to uncover, not just add. It’s sensory, grounding, and emotionally honest – creativity you feel through your hands, imperfect and alive.
In a world full of chaotic art supplies and self-doubt, I set out to create something different. The Karving Kanvas is your invitation to karve by colour, reveal your own layers, and discover that beauty was always there – just beneath the surface.

Karvaura started with one restless heart and a deep belief: everyone deserves a way back to their own creativity. For Dr. Shaun Redgard, art wasn’t always about talent – it was about healing, curiosity, and having the courage to try, even when you feel stuck or out of place.
After years spent helping others solve their biggest challenges, Shaun found himself searching for something more personal – a path back to his own sense of wonder. It was in moments of quiet recovery, with a mind hungry for meaning and hands longing to make, that the first spark of Karvaura appeared.
Shaun’s journey is proof that creativity isn’t reserved for the fearless or the few – it’s for anyone willing to begin again. Through Karvaura, he invites you to rediscover what lights you up, one karve, one layer, one colour at a time.
