HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
At the centre of the set is the Essdee handle, designed to accept interchangeable blades. Blades are secured firmly using the aluminium tightening band, allowing quick and safe changes as your work evolves.
You can switch between blades in seconds while keeping the same grip, balance, and feel. This makes it easy to experiment, refine technique, and respond intuitively to the surface you’re working on.

THE BLADES AND WHAT THEY DO

Blade 1 is a fine, narrow V-shaped blade. It’s ideal for delicate detail, thin lines, outlines, and light surface work. It performs best when used at roughly a 45-degree angle to the sheet.

Blade 2 is a small, wide V-shaped blade. It’s designed for broader lines and controlled shaping, and works best when held close to parallel with the sheet.

Blade 3 is a small, wide U-shaped blade. It removes material smoothly and is well suited to gentle clearing and flowing marks when used near parallel to the surface.

Blade 4 is a large, wide U-shaped blade. It’s used for opening up areas, removing larger sections of material, and creating bold texture, again best used near parallel to the sheet.

Blade 5 is a scoring blade. It’s ideal for marking guides, outlines, and reference lines before carving deeper with other blades.

Blade 9 is a large, narrow V-shaped blade and the most versatile blade in the range. It balances detail and depth, making it an excellent all-round blade and a strong starting point for beginners.
